SUMMARY:14th Annual Vigil of Remembrance
DESCRIPTION:Temple Beth David invites the community to its 14th Annual Yom HaShoah Vigil of Remembrance. Throughout the day\, participants will read aloud the names of Holocaust martyrs\, honoring the lives and futures that were lost. \nThe vigil will begin with words of remembrance from clergy and the lighting of six memorial candles. Members of the community are invited to take part by reading names\, listening\, reflecting\, and adding names from their own personal remembrances. \nThis year’s program will also feature a special presentation by Oren B. Stier\, PhD\, Professor of Religious Studies and Director of the Holocaust and Genocide Studies Program at Florida International University. His talk\, “Hollywood and the Holocaust\,” will explore how film has portrayed and interpreted the Holocaust and what these representations reveal about how this history continues to be remembered and understood. \nFriends from across the community will also join in reading the names of the Righteous Among the Nations. \nAll are welcome to come\, participate\, and remember. \nDetails: \n\nWhen: Sunday\, April 12\, 2026 – 9:45 AM – 9:45 PM\nWhere: Temple Beth David\n\nParticipants interested in reading names may sign up for a 15-minute reading period through Temple Beth David.

Afterward\, we’ll spend time serving the park and enjoying the afternoon together including a nature walk\, kayaking\, a playground\, nature center\, trails\, and swimming. \nCome dressed ready to serve and enjoy the sunshine. She is the founder of Play With Purpose and supports families worldwide through coaching\, consulting\, and her online community\, Centered On Relationships (COR). \nBlending neuroscience\, attachment theory\, and developmentally appropriate practices\, Caley helps parents move away from power struggles and toward deeper connection with their children.
