There are some people whose impact is easy to see.
And then there are people like Debbie Kelley—
whose impact is felt in everything.
Behind every Sunday service, every meeting, every smooth transition… there has been a quiet, steady presence making sure it all holds together. That presence has been Debbie.
While many experience The Gathering Place from the seats, Debbie has been faithfully serving behind the scenes—coordinating, organizing, preparing, anticipating—often long before anyone else arrives and long after others have gone home.
She has managed calendars, scheduled meetings, tracked communication, maintained records, coordinated facilities, supported staff and ministry teams, organized reports, and ensured that the day-to-day life of the church moved forward with excellence and care .
But what makes Debbie so special isn’t just what she did.
It’s how she did it.
A Gift for Order, A Heart for People
Debbie carries a rare combination of gifts.
She has the mind of an administrator—detail-oriented, thoughtful, and incredibly reliable. She sees what needs to be done before others even realize it. She creates structure where there could easily be chaos. She brings clarity where things could feel overwhelming.
But paired with that is something even more powerful:
A deeply pastoral heart.
Debbie doesn’t just organize systems—she cares for people.
She has a warmth about her that is unmistakable. When she greets you, it feels like you matter. Not in a passing, polite way—but in a deeply personal way. As if, in that moment, you are the most important person in the room.
She embraces people like family.
She sees them.
She values them.
She loves them.
And through that, she reflects the love of Jesus in a way that words alone cannot capture.

Faithfulness That Builds the Church
Scripture reminds us that the body of Christ is made up of many parts—some seen, some unseen—but all essential.
Debbie’s role has been one of those “unseen” roles that, in reality, holds everything together.
Because of her:
- Pastoral leadership has been supported and strengthened
- Ministry teams have been equipped and organized
- Communication has flowed more effectively
- The church has functioned with order, consistency, and care
- Hospitality has been intentional and welcoming
She didn’t just complete tasks—she created an environment where ministry could flourish.
That is kingdom work.
Not always visible.
Not always recognized.
But deeply impactful.
A Lasting Kingdom Impact
Debbie’s service is a reminder that the Kingdom of God is often built in quiet faithfulness.
In the emails answered.
In the schedules coordinated.
In the rooms prepared.
In the details no one else sees.
In the people who feel loved because someone took the time to truly see them.
Her work didn’t just keep things running.
It helped create a church where people could encounter Jesus.
And that impact will continue—long after the tasks are done.
Thank You, Debbie
Debbie, thank you.
Thank you for your faithfulness.
Thank you for your excellence.
Thank you for your servant’s heart.
Thank you for loving people so well.
And thank you for the countless ways—seen and unseen—you have helped carry The Gathering Place forward.
You may have served behind the scenes…
But your impact has been felt in every corner of this church.
