Welcoming God’s Presence
As summer settles in and our schedules fill with trips and events, I want to celebrate your choice to step into worship today. When you pause amidst life’s busyness and say, “God, I’m putting You first,” something wonderful happens. Worship invites us to remember who God is—our Provider, Sustainer, and faithful Friend. Take a moment now to acknowledge His blessings and whisper your gratitude to Him.
The Question of Calling
Some of us are walking through uncertainty—personal struggles or the cares of loved ones—and we wonder what tomorrow might hold. If that’s you, hear this: God has a special word for you today. He beckons you to consider not only why you’re here, but what He’s calling you to do with the life He’s graciously given you. Everything you are and everything you have is a gift from Him, and He longs for you to discover the purpose woven into your story.
A Compass for Life
When plans change or disappointments come, we all face crossroads. How do we decide which way to turn? In my early years of ministry, a dear mentor taught me a truth that still guides me: “Remember your calling.” Not your title, your achievements, or anyone’s expectations, but the unique purpose God placed in your heart. Your calling becomes your compass—your north star—when life’s winds threaten to throw you off course.
Abraham’s Yes: Genesis 12:1–9
“The Lord said to Abram, ‘Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation and bless you…and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.’ So Abram went, as the Lord had told him…” (Genesis 12:1–4).
Notice that God’s story with Abram begins not with his perfect faith or impressive résumé, but with a simple invitation and a willing heart. At seventy-five, Abram stepped out of the familiar and into God’s promise. He built altars of worship wherever he went, reminding himself and everyone around him that he was living by what God had called him to be.
Living Out Your Calling
Just as Abraham followed God’s voice into the unknown, you and I are invited to walk in the path He lights before us. Maybe you’re sensing a new direction in your career, relationships, or service. Maybe you simply need fresh courage to say “yes” to God’s next step. Wherever you find yourself, remember your calling—seek God’s guidance in prayer, listen for His Spirit’s whisper, and build altars of worship in your journey each day.
When you choose obedience, God honors your step of faith. He equips you for every season and invites you to trust that His promises will guide you home. So today, wherever you are, may you say with Abraham, “Here I am, Lord,” and journey forward in the joy of your calling.
