A Quiet Presence Behind the Scenes
I want to introduce you to Debbie Kelley, whose influence is woven into every gathering here at The Gathering Place. While most of us experience our Sunday services from the seats, Debbie has been there long before anyone arrives—coordinating, organizing, and anticipating every need so that our time together flows smoothly and warmly.
A Gift for Order, A Heart for People
Debbie carries a rare combination of gifts. She brings clarity where there could be chaos, creating structure and ensuring every detail is handled with care. But even more striking is her deeply pastoral heart. When Debbie greets you, you feel seen and valued not as a passing acquaintance, but as if you are the most important person in the room. She loves people with the compassion of Jesus, embracing them like family and reflecting Christ’s love through every interaction.
Faithfulness That Builds the Church
Scripture reminds us that the body of Christ is made up of many parts—some seen, some unseen—but all essential.
In her unseen role, Debbie has strengthened our pastoral leadership, equipped ministry teams, and kept communication flowing freely. She has organized facilities, managed schedules, and prepared spaces that welcome each person with intentional hospitality. She hasn’t just completed tasks—she has cultivated an environment where ministry can truly flourish. This is kingdom work: not always visible, not always recognized, but profoundly impactful.
A Lasting Kingdom Impact
Debbie’s service reminds us that the Kingdom of God is often built in the quiet faithfulness of every small detail. In every email answered, every room prepared, every schedule coordinated, people feel loved because someone took the time to truly see them. Her work has done more than keep things running—it has created a church where people can encounter Jesus, and that impact will continue long after the tasks are complete.
Thank You, Debbie
Debbie, thank you for your faithfulness, your excellence, and your servant’s heart. Thank you for loving people so well and for the countless ways—seen and unseen—you have carried The Gathering Place forward. You may have served behind the scenes, but your impact has been felt in every corner of this church.
